Swallow

I used to paddle around a wooden pallet
Hold my head high in the sky
Then I never took a single breath, but that didn’t kill me yet
I met you, your blue eyes cut through all of my open wounds, what waste was the ruby on my shimmering hilt
That second I knew what I was looking through
But I looked past all of the odds

You’re a swallow
You fill my hollow
Carrying an axe, centuries old
As you rake my heart, that never died as it was never alive
With the voice of a nightingale, your lullaby puts me to sleep with my eyes fixated on your sky blue face,
a thousand different galaxies
You’re left behind your flock as you watched them fly off
You came to me
